Race description

“San Marcos uphill” is a 5 kilometer running race that ascends from the neighborhood of Pontika in Renteria to the fort of San Marcos. It has 243 meters of positive slope that will put the runner on a endless ascent. At the beginning the slopes are quite easy, but as we approach the finish line we will find steeper slopes.

The starting point takes place in front of the Mikel bar, next to a traffic circle and at the beginning of a red bicycle lane. The first 2 kilometers are sourounded by industrial buildings. After that we will cross a traffic circle and take the main road towards San Marcos. The circuit ends at the end of a parking lot next to the fort.

The circuit surface is just pavement and therefore the circuit is not technical at all. You will have to pay attention to the cars on the road and respect the zone indicated for pedestrians when available.

How to participate

In order to participate you will need to register your race with the STRAVA platform. You have two options for this:
